Dispatcher - San Marcos
This position requires the dispatcher to create, execute, and accurately document an efficient daily schedule while meeting the demands of customers. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to adjust to last minute changes demanded by weather, traffic, and site locations.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Develop a daily schedule and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day
- Verify loads dispatched to drivers were accurately executed
- Act as a communication liaison between field and office
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers
- Monitor schedule efficiency, driver productivity and make changes as needed throughout the day to maximize business
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented, multi-tasking is a must
- Forklift experience needed
Educational Requirements and/or Experience Required
- At least a high school diploma.
- 6 months of driving experience preferred.
- Satisfactory driving record (within the last 3 years) is necessary.
Skills
- Ability to interpret instructions
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to sit for several hours at a time
