Distribution Center Manager - Dallas
The Distribution Center Manager plays a crucial role in delivering our mission and achieving our goals. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of branch operations, including sales, warehouse, and overall branch profitability. You will work alongside your team to ensure we provide friendly and efficient service and deliver the service our customers have come to expect from us.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Work directly with customers to process sales orders
- Direct, approve and resolve all operational functions and activities of the branch
- Oversee and assist with sales and marketing, customer relations, warehousing, and fleet operations
- Direct and assist with all personnel-related functions including recruiting and selection, disciplinary action, training, employee relations, payroll, benefits, adhering to legal requirements, performance appraisals, and terminations.
- Strong inventory management skills to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize loss
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with customers, vendors, and employees
- Responsible for branch P&L
- Works with other members of Management to ensure the overall performance of the company
- Drives the vision and solutions that support the success of our Distribution Center
- Mentors and develops Distribution Center Supervisors to help them reach their highest potential
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for large changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale
- Ensures that products delivered are stored in an organized manner, so that its quality is maintained, and accessibility is achieved.
- Implements worker safety and health regulations.
- Plans projects and sets objectives for the employees to meet.
- Meets with other managers to confer about products, shipping times, and distribution issues, among many other concerns.
- Participate in all aspects of hiring new employees. Recruit, train, assign, and direct work. Complete performance reviews, and discipline and/or address complaints, and resolves employee issues
- Must behave consistently with the Company’s Core Competencies, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and focus on safety
- Manage annual budgeting, planning, and implementing operational initiatives, and sales growth strategies
- Manage the functions of departments in an orderly manner to achieve the highest possible levels of accuracy and productivity
- Delegate operational duties to Assistant Manager and Supervisors
- May fill in for various Distribution Center roles
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements and/or Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in business or other job-related discipline
- 5 years of sales experience in the wholesale and/or HVAC industry
- 2 years in a supervisory position
- HVAC industry experience a plus
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Prophet 21 a plus
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
